Grey

The color of neutrality

As I look out my window
at a cold grey Monday Morning.
I often wonder why the color
calms me so?
The color grey to many is drab.
But to me it's a blend of neutrality.
Not black, not white but all.
In the climate of the world we
are in, so many try to choose sides.
They say you are either this or that.
To this I say I am grey.
I am a blend of all and nothing.
If only more would understand
strip down from the color that
limits and binds them.
From the hatred that holds
their hearts, and the pettiness
that rules their souls.
I hope and long for the day,
were more people appreciate
the color grey.
